Cargo Unloading and Ship-to-Ship Operation for River Mas at Batu Ampar Port, Batam

Batam Shipping Agency, or PT. Bisa Jasa Segara, is proud to have successfully managed another significant cargo unloading operation at Batu Ampar Port, Batam. This operation was the second phase of a larger cargo project for the same cargo owner, following the first successful shipment using the Century Mas. This time, the vessel River Mas, owned by Temas Bulker, was entrusted to us for the efficient unloading and handling of valuable cargo. 

As with all our operations, our role as ship agent required careful coordination across multiple parties. We worked closely with the shipowners, the captain and crew of River Mas, cargo owners, stevedoring companies, port authorities, and mooring personnel. Effective communication and teamwork between all parties involved was key to ensuring that the cargo unloading process ran smoothly from start to finish.

The cargo handling process mirrored that of the previous operation with Century Mas. The cargo was lifted directly from the ship using its own onboard cranes. Some of the cargo was transferred via ship-to-ship operations onto barges, ready for further marine transport, while other portions were unloaded onto the jetty and loaded onto trailers for overland transportation. Our team ensured that all logistics, from crane operations to trailer readiness, were meticulously planned and executed.

Comprehensive Coordination and Permit Management

In addition to overseeing the cargo operations, Batam Shipping Agency also handled various permits required for post-unloading activities on the River Mas. These permits were essential for conducting tasks such as hotwork, underwater surveys, and hull cleaning. These maintenance activities were carried out at Batu Ampar anchorage, ensuring that the vessel remained in optimal condition for future operations. Our team’s expertise in securing the necessary permits in a timely manner allowed the crew of River Mas to proceed with these tasks without delay, ensuring no interruptions to the vessel’s schedule.
