A Journey Built on Trust, Coordination, and Commitment
Asgard Re-Activation in Batam

Ready and awaiting the next instruction — Asgard at PaxOcean Shipyard.
The AHTS Asgard, sailing under the Liberian flag, is owned by one of our long-time and valued clients. When the vessel changed ownership, she was already in Batam — quietly waiting for her next chapter to begin.
Shortly after the purchase, the vessel owner placed their trust in us to act as Asgard’s appointed agent throughout the entire re-activation process. From that moment on, we were not only handling procedures and formalities, but becoming part of a long and demanding journey that required constant coordination, patience, and commitment. What followed was six months of close collaboration, problem-solving, and hands-on execution to bring Asgard back to full operational readiness.

Close coordination with the shipyard team to ensure a smooth relocation and re-activation process for Asgard.
The re-activation scope was extensive and multifaceted. It included a change of flag, comprehensive crew change arrangements, and the preparation of all critical operational supplies — bunker fuel, provisions, lubricants, and hydraulic oil. Each element had to be planned carefully, executed precisely, and aligned with the vessel’s operational timeline.

At the center of this operation were the people who made it possible. Our team arranged accommodation, land and sea transportation for technicians, superintendents, and crew members arriving from various locations. We also handled visa processing and stay permits, ensuring that every technician and superintendent could work legally and without interruption throughout their stay in Batam.
Safety and crew welfare remained our constant priority. We coordinated closely with the shipyard to ensure safety inductions were properly conducted for technicians and visitors before any work commenced. For crew members who were not feeling well, we arranged doctor visits and medical check-ups, because maintaining crew health is an essential part of keeping operations moving safely and smoothly.

The first batch of crew arrives to begin Asgard’s re-activation phase.
Over the course of approximately six months, challenges inevitably arose — schedule adjustments, last-minute operational requests, documentation changes, and coordination across multiple stakeholders. Meeting the expectations of the vessel owner and ship management required not only experience, but also a tactical approach and calm execution under pressure.
Throughout this journey, the team at Batam Shipping Agency remained fully engaged at every stage. We stayed close to the vessel, responsive to evolving needs, and proactive in solving problems before they became obstacles. This is where our role as an agent truly comes to life — not just managing processes, but standing alongside our client when it matters most.
The project reached a meaningful conclusion when Asgard departed Batam exactly on schedule on 31 December 2025. Closing the year with a successful vessel re-activation was deeply memorable for us. It reflected months of teamwork, trust, and shared commitment between the vessel owner, ship management, and our agency team.

Mission completed. Asgard sails on, ready for her next assignment.
The Asgard re-activation is a proud portfolio milestone for Batam Shipping Agency. It represents what we believe ship agency services should be — reliable, human-centered, and fully committed to supporting our clients every step of the way.
